BIOECONOMY VILLAGE @ MAKER FAIRE 2017

What is the bioeconomy? What bio-based products do we use in our everyday lives? Can we make more sustainable choices for the environment and our health?

Visit the BIOECONOMY VILLAGE @Maker Faire in Rome (Nuova Fiera Di Roma) from the 1st to 3rd of December 2017 to find the answers to all of these questions – and a whole lot more!

Promoted by Maker Faire and the European research projects BIOWAYS and STAR-ProBio (funded by the European Commission and BBI-JU programme), the BIOECONOMY VILLAGE aims to raise public awareness, improve knowledge of bio-based products, and promote the benefits of the bioeconomy.

The BIOECONOMY VILLAGE will host Bologna University, the National Research Council, Sapienza University of Rome, Unitelma Sapienza, Tor Vergata University, ENEA and Turin University, the projects ISAAC, First2run, ValoriBio and BioSTEP, companies and start-ups including ENI, NOVAMONT, Minimo Impatto, Algaria, MOGU, BioInnoTech, AlgaRes, CHIMAR, SINGTEX® INDUSTRIAL CO, ROELMI HPC, Wile Alpacafarm, Okka and Turbliss, and associations including Chimica Verde Bionet, 06, Azzero CO2 and Frascati Scienza.

Several bio-based products and the way there are used in everyday life will be showcased in a practical and engaging way through samples, thematic workshops and demonstrations. There is even a games area where you can play interactive computer games and learn all about the bioeconomy at the same time.

The exhibition space is divided into the following areas:
