Bio Based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU) National Launch Day took place in Rome at the headquarter of Lazio Region. Organized by APRE on behalf of MIUR, Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, and in close collaboration with prof. Fabio Fava, the National representative at the States Representatives Group BBI JU.

FVA as representative of BIOWAYS has been invited by APRE as speaker to discuss the success factors and differences of a BBI JU call compared to a classic H2020 project.
During the day the new 2018 work plan of the BBI program was presented, opening on April 11th with a deadline scheduled for September 6th 2018. Twenty-one are the topics presented in the new call (11 RIA, 3 CSA, 5 DEMO, 2 FLAG) for a total budget available to about € 115 million as a contribution of the Union and the Consortium to the 2018 proposals. Several news of the announcement that were presented by the official of BBI JU. The day was also a moment of confrontation and discussion among the main Italian players in the sector that in addition to identifying the main difficulties for a successful participation, tried together to enhance the success factors.
